Yet another in-car test done. When running without direct reading of the brake pressure sensors, the brake pressure can be read from the MK60 via the KBUS and redistributed to the CAN bus in a custom CAN message.
The CAN message is picked up by the airVent Display and the pressures are displayed in a time series diagram. The airVent Display does also have a Digital Twin of the brake configuration of the car, and estimates the brake bias continously as long as the brakes are applied.
At the race track it might be possible to combine brake pressures and wheel speeds to detect if brake fade occurs at the front or rear...
airVentDisplay by racing-IOT emerged as a result from a pure enthusiast driven project, based on the need for displaying and logging data from the E46 CAN bus related to track day/race events.
