GUI Basic
GUI Basic is the basic collection of GUI displays in the airVent Display. It have instant numerical visualization of engine temperature, oil temperature, separate brightness control, GUI page memory (same page at power-on as was active when power-off), as well as change GUI page by the steering wheel buttons (cruise+ and cruise-). Further, the HMI backlight control is cooperating with the light control module in the E46 such that the backlight is automatically adjusted according to the surrounding light variations.
GUI Basic contains the following displays:
Intro Splash Screen:
Home Menu/Shortcut Menu:
Engine values (Coolant outlet temp, IAT, EGT, Voltage and Lamda Integrators):
Brake Pressures, Wheel Speed Differences, Individual Wheel Speeds and Brake Bias Estimation:
Performance Gauge:
G-Forces with Max indications:
Max values (with reset):
Acceleration 0-100 km/h:
Recent measurement (This), Previous and Best, Instant speed, Max speed, Max G (acceleration),Oil temp,Water temp.
Stopping distance estimation 100-0 km/h:
Recent measurement (This), Previous and Best, Instant speed, Brake Bias, Average G (deceleration), Oil temp, Water temp.
Backlight control:
The display unit used in the airVent Display is a TFT with LED backlight. The backlight can easily be adjusted, not only manually but the airVent Display "cooperates" with the Light Control Module (LCM) such that the backlight is adjusted according to the levels determined by both the LCM level adjuster and the ambient light reported from the LCM (read more of the development process here...)
Change GUI page by the steering wheel buttons:
When cruise control is not active, the 'Cruise+' and 'Cruise-' is used to change the GUI pages. A press on the 'Resume'-button, brings up the 'Home Menu' GUI.
When in measurement mode (100-0 km/h or 0-100 km/h) the 'Cruise-' button act as Start/Initiate a new measurement, similar to tap the 'This' rectangle.
COMPARISONMENT TO OTHER SOLUTIONS
If the great Internet is correct, there are not that many similar solutions out there. The table below compares the airVent Display (aVD S54) functions with GUI Basic software with the functions found in a comparable solution (solution A).
